2 men injured, woman in critical condition after early morning shootings in Uptown Minneapolis

Police have identified the three people injured in two shootings in Uptown Minneapolis early Saturday morning. 

Shaun Knight, 26, of Mounds View and Keith Garrett Jr., 23, of St. Paul, were shot at the corner of West 31st Street and Hennepin Avenue around 2:20 a.m.

Minutes later, officers in the area heard gunshots and saw people running. Officers located 21-year-old Mikyla Cornelious of Inver Grove Heights, who suffered a life-threatening injury to the neck.

The woman, Mikyla R. Cornelious, 21, of Inver Grove Heights, suffered a life-threatening wound to the neck.

Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department and the department’s crime lab responded to the scene. At this time it is unknown if the shootings are related, and there is no suspect information available.
