2 dead, 1 critically injured in 2 St. Paul shootings
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - St. Paul police are investigating two separate crime scenes after discovering two dead in a home and one critically injured on a sidewalk nearby a few blocks southwest of the Xcel Energy Center early Thursday morning.
Police confirmed two men are dead and one man has been critically wounded in two shootings, but police spokesman Steve Linders said it's too soon to determine if the shootings were related.
While responding to a report of shots fired at 12:30 a.m., police found a man with gunshot wounds on the sidewalk near 7th St. W. and Smith Ave. He is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
Officers later found two “gravely injured” men in an upstairs apartment in the 200 block of Forbes Ave., and they were pronounced dead on-scene.
The St. Paul Police Department Homicide Unit will be working with the Ramsey County medical examiner to identify the deceased and determine exact causes of death.
Investigators are canvassing both crime scenes, but no arrests have been made and no motive has been determined in either case.
Anyone with information about these two cases is asked to call the homicide unit at 651-266-5650.
