11 residents displaced after apartment fire in South St. Paul

A fire at an apartment building in South St. Paul, Minnesota left 11 residents without homes Friday night. 

At 9:14 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire at a second-floor apartment in a 12-unit building at 105 Park Street East, according to the South Metro Fire Department. The fire had spread to the hallway and an apartment on the third floor. 

The fire was put out in approximately 20 minutes. 

The American Red Cross is helping seven adults and four children who were displaced by the fire. 

Investigators believe the fire started as a cooking fire.
