1 killed in motorcycle crash in Burnsville, Minn.

One man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Burnsville, Minnesota, early Saturday morning. 

At 3:05 a.m., officers responded to a motorcycle crash on the South Highway 13 Frontage Road at Sheridan Avenue. The caller did not witness the crash, but happened upon it after the fact and called 911, said Sgt. Matt Smith, spokesperson for the Burnsville Police Department.

The motorcycle driver, 45-year-old Michael Fitch, was pronounced dead at the scene. The medical examiner determined he died of blunt force chest injuries sustained in the crash. He was not wearing a helmet, Smith said. 

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Burnsville Police Department and the Minnesota State Patrol are investigating the crash.
