WINTER STORM WARNING:  for the metro and most of southern and central MN… WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for parts of northern MN... both in effect from Noon Friday through 6PM SATURDAY.

Friday afternoon: Snow redevelops... 1”-3” by evening commute.

Commute Impact: High– snow heavy at times with limited visibility, this low water content snow compacts very quickly to black ice

Friday Night/overnight: snow continues, heavy at times... another 3" - 6".

Road Impact: High–  snow heavy at times with limited visibility, this low water content snow compacts very quickly to black ice

Saturday: Leftover light snow tapering to flurries or snow showers through the afternoon ... 6” – 10” totals for most metro locations with current track/trend.  Parts of southeastern MN could get locally a foot.  Majority of accumulation will be done by sunrise, but blowing and drifting snow will be a concern through the day.

Saturday night/Sunday: clearing & calming winds as temperatures PLUNGE through Saturday afternoon & into Sunday morning…Sunday morning low temp of -20°, with burbs closer to -25° with wind chills of -40° possible…Sunday high near -5
