Saturday Soaker: Rainfall totals

After a hot and humid week that had Minnesota feeling like the Amazon Rain Forest, Mother nature wrung out that moisture in a series of Saturday storms. The rain started early on Saturday morning, and for most places continued into the afternoon. In a slow, mainly west to east movement, the rain followed a warm front , and like a squeegee across your windshield, squeezed out some impressive rain totals.

The biggest swath of rain fell across central Minnesota, including the northern metro. However, a few robust cells fed lawns across the southern metro as well.

When it was all said and done, parts of Minnesota picked up over 5 inches of rain.
