The City of Wayzata is putting a winter twist on a drive-in movie with their Cinema and Skates event this weekend, where you can skate on an infinity loop on Wayzata Bay on Lake Minnetonka while enjoying movies like Frozen 2 and The Mighty Ducks.

The Minneapolis Institute of Art is bringing a pieces of their collection outside the walls of the museum. They?ve teamed up with ?Ice Occasions? to recreate the fan-favorites as ice sculptures that?ll be placed in parks across Minneapolis for all to see. The art-in-ice will be on view starting Friday, February 19th. The five museum pieces and locations are: Veiled Lady at Longfellow Park, Olive Trees at Washburn-Fair Oaks Park, Your Dog at Bde Mka Ska, Celestial Horse at North Commons Park and Lobster Telephone at Boom Island Park. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue has come a long way in the last few years making a commitment to inclusion. One of our own, Minnesota?s Halima Aden, was the first model featured wearing a hijab and burkini. Now, Marine on St. Croix native is hoping to be the next Minnesotan to make history in the issue. Her name is Mikayla Holmgren and if that name rings a bell it?s because she was the first woman with Down syndrome to compete in a Miss USA pageant entering the Miss Minnesota USA pageant in 2017. She won the Spirit of Miss USA and Director?s awards that night. Now she?s set her sights on the SI Swim Issue and put together her audition video which is now posted online. The Travail Collective team is not only whipping up memorable cuisine, they?re serving up unforgettable images in their newly released ?Sexy Chef Calendar? for 2021. After months of closure, one of the Twin Cities most celebrated restaurants, Spoon and Stable is reopening its dining room for dinner and brunch on February 11th. Even before they opened their doors, all the February reservations had been booked. Reservations for March open up on February 15th. Fox 9 spoke with James Beard Award-Winning Chef, Gavin Kaysen about the decision to reopen and the updates he?s made to the menu.

The Doc is in! Popular Disney Junior show ?Doc McStuffins? has come to life in a new exhibit at the Minnesota Children?s Museum. The cartoon is about a little girl who fixes up her toys, reassures them they?re going to be okay and encourages them not to be afraid of the doctor. The exhibit has been spread out over two areas to ensure social distancing and many of the touch-toys have been removed or switched to a different surface to allow for easier cleaning. The ?Doc McStuffins? exhibit will be in place through May 9th. MCM is now open Thursday to Sunday.

The Minneapolis Institute of Art is welcoming guests inside once again. The reopening coincides with the start of Black History Month and Mia has several exhibits that pay tribute to African American artists including the Cargill Gallery featuring ?In the Presence of our Ancestors: Southern Perspective in African American Art? and ?Freedom Rising: I am the Story? by textile artist L?Merchie Frazier. With these above average temps the city of Burnsville wants to tee it up. But they won?t be using golf balls. Instead they?ve chosen bright-colored dodgeballs for their first-ever winter golf tournament this weekend at Birnamwood. Despite the unknowns, the tourney sold out right away. The public can still come out to watch and grab a bite or beverage. It starts Saturday the 16th at 9am.

Calling all wings, avocado and breakfast lovers! Graze Provisions & Libations is a food and beverage collective in Minneapolis? North Loop neighborhood is starting off the New Year with some good news. Three new food concepts have opened up; B.A.D. Wingz, Avocadish and It?s 7am Somewhere. 56 Brewing in Northeast Minneapolis has created an outdoor oasis with heaters, fire pits and even blankets to entice customers to visit often and stay longer. And to have a little fun with the current situation, they?re offering beer pricing based on the temperature. The colder it gets the cheaper the beer. They will keep this pricing and outdoor setup in place into next week when they reopen their indoor space on Wednesday at 50-percent capacity, per the latest guidance from Governor Walz.

St. Paul?s Caf? Astoria is known for its over-the-top lattes including rainbow foam art, real gold flakes and fresh toasted marshmallows. But their newest creation is out-of-this world and Instagram is loving it. The Baby Yoda latte is almost too cute to drink featuring the infant alien sporting a Santa hat. The meringue?s are hand-made and peppermint flavored, while the rim of the decadent drink is dipped in chocolate and graham crackers. Caf? Astoria is located at 180 Grand Avenue. They just opened a second location in St. Paul called Side Hustle at 1124 Payne Ave.

Tonight is the United States debut of a very unique light show that?s gained a following in Europe. Murals depicting the Christmas story will be projected on to the front of the Cathedral of St. Paul and set to music. ?Cathedral Illuminated: The Manger? runs 12 minutes and will be shown on a continuous loop from 6 to 9 p.m., Dec. 17 - 19, 2020. It?ll play on the eastern side of the Cathedral. Officers from the Saint Paul Police Department will direct traffic one-way heading north along Summit Avenue and allow vehicles to stop temporarily in front of the Cathedral to watch the show. Spectators must remain in their vehicles at all times. If you can?t make it to the show, it will be live streamed on the Cathedral Heritage Foundation?s Facebook page from 6 to 7:30pm, Dec. 17 ? 19th.

Tis the season to flood those backyard rinks! And there may be more of them than ever as demand has skyrocketed due to the pandemic. Calls have been pouring in to the crew behind T-Rex Rinks. We joined them at one of their builds in Woodbury to find out what goes in to creating the perfect backyard ice oasis.

This would typically be the time of year malls would be bustling with holiday shoppers and kids dressed up for their pictures with Santa. But with COVID-19 restrictions in place, there won’t be any in-person visits with Old St. Nick. Still, malls are finding ways to keep the tradition alive, online. The Mall of America constructed the Candy Cane Institute, an interactive virtual experience that starts with a tour of the elves workshop and ends with a Santa visit. The cost for the 10-minute virtual holiday experience is $20 and it runs through December 24.

This year's holiday attractions look different, but there is still plenty of dazzle to be found. Shayne Wells checked out Sam's Christmas Village which boasts millions of lights sure to impress visitors on foot or on four wheels.

Drive-thru light shows have popped up all over the metro, but only one showcases the world?s most endearing and endangered animals. ?Nature Illuminated? is a new event at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley. It features dazzling lights and larger-than-life animals custom-made by Landmark Creations in Burnsville. There are nearly 30 inflatable art pieces including a 30-foot red panda and a moose that towers over your car. ?Nature Illuminated? is open now and will run through January 17th.
