An ice sport that originated in Canada has come to Maple Grove. It?s called Crokicurl and it?s a mashup of curling and the popular board game Crokinole. The octagon rink is near the Maple Grove Ice Loop in Central Park. The rules are posted at the rink and the rocks are kept on site so anyone can give it their best slide.

A disappointment brunch experience is what inspired a long-time St. Paul bartender to get in to the drink mix business. Charles Lovejoy started experimenting in the Happy Gnome kitchen and created his own Bloody Mary mix. Lovejoy?s products can now be found in more than 50 restaurants and liquor stores across the state, but what drives him is giving back. He grew up in the Rondo community and picks different charities to support as part of his mission. Lovejoy has two flavors of Bloody Mary mixes and a hot sauce with the memorable name, Burn Yo Face Off Hot Sauce.

The menu has recipes from Chef Begnaud?s grandpa, Mr. Paul. Behind the supper club is a to-go sandwich shop called Mr. Paul?s Po?Boys and Jams. The sandwich shop is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 3pm. The Supper Club is open Tuesday through Sunday as well from 4pm to 10pm.

The Vikings Eagan campus continues to expand. They’ve partner with the Omni Viking Lakes Hotel to offer the Winter SKOLstice. This new event will run through February 27th. It will include free ice skating, free open curling on the pond, pond hockey on four rinks on the north lake and a warming house. For more information visit the Viking Lakes website or Instagram.

The exterior of the Cathedral of St. Paul is the canvas for a new stunning light show that?s free for everyone to experience starting tonight, December 15th. Last year was the first year for this event. It was drive-up only. This year, there?s a new cinematic projection for the fa�ade and an indoor component as well. The outdoor light show is called ?The Beginning.? It?s a walk-up show best viewed from Cathedral Hill. There are tickets to view it as a drive-up show on Sunday the 19th. The indoor immersive experience is projects hundreds of thousands of twinkling stars on the interior of the Cathedral. Tickets need to be reserved ahead of time on Event Brite?s website. Tattersall Distilling has opened a massive distillery just over the border in River Falls. The 75,000 square foot facility was once a Shopko. With all this space, the team behind Tattersall expanded their plans. The new location boasts its first-ever restaurant, indoor and outdoor event spaces, an outdoor concert stage and large retail market. It also allows Tattersall to produce up to 200,000 gallons of spirits with room to grow. The River Falls location is open Wednesday to Sunday.

Stages Theatre Company is limiting capacity to 50% and is requiring all audience members 18+ to provide proof of vaccination or a negative test taken within 72 hours of the performance along with a photo ID.

An art installation in St. Louis Park is exploring the blurred line between humans and technology. The reflective experience is called the Quantum Mirror. The mirror debuted in Chicago and is now set up inside REM5 Virtual Reality Laboratory in St. Louis Park. It opens to the public on Thursday, November 18th.

Ultimate Dinosaurs exhibit arrives at the Science Museum of Minnesota
The Ultimate Dinosaurs exhibit showcases some of the most spectacular dinosaurs you may have never heard of. The exotic creatures evolved in isolation in the Southern Hemisphere. There are 15 life-sized casts and dozens of prehistoric specimens. The show will be at the Science Museum of Minnesota through April.

A Twin Cities artist created a Halloween display big enough to share with the entire neighborhood. Adam Turman painted his first Halloween cutout nearly 10 years ago. Each year he adds a new cast of characters and for 2021 it?s the Star Wars crew. They join cutouts of The Ghostbusters, Harry Potter, Stranger Things, Jaws and Pirates of the Caribbean in the Brookside Neighborhood of St. Louis Park. Initially, the cutouts lived in Turman?s yard but he ran out of space so now he?s sharing with the neighbors.
