A fight over who can vote by mail is heading to the nation's highest court — and Minnesota election officials are already fielding questions. FOX 9's Emily Pofahl reports on what Minnesota's top election official is saying about new federal restrictions on mail-in voting and the community pushback growing at the county level.

Iran officials say they struck an unmanned U.S. vessel trying to enter the Strait of Hormuz. American officials are dismissing the report, calling it "a total lie." It all comes just a day after the U.S. military struck three Iranian oil tankers in response to a missile attack on Navy warships.

On Friday, President Trump signed two executive orders that he called “historic” – both aimed at addressing high beef prices and supporting American ranchers – saying the move will make beef in America the “highest standard in the world” and “sold at the lowest prices anywhere.” He then took questions from select members of the press, ranging from the war with Iran and midterm elections.

The White House is pushing back on calling the conflict with Iran a war, even as attacks between the U.S. and Iran have increased this week. Vice President JD Vance also addressed rising gas prices, saying there is no timeline for when prices could return to $3 a gallon. FOX's Doug Luzader reports.

Referencing a statement by U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, who said in July that Americans could see $3 gallons of gas again by Labor Day, Vice President JD Vance on Thursday outlined when prices might begin to come down – blaming Iran strikes in the Straight or Hormuz, despite President Trump’s repeated insistence that its military has been “obliterated.”

Blaming the Biden administration for draining U.S. oil reserves to “juice gas prices for midterm elections,” Vice President JD Vance said on Thursday that a new deal with Venezuela will add 65 billion barrels of oil reserves for the U.S.

The attacks between the U.S. and Iran have continued, with President Trump warning that more may follow. The strikes come as oil and gas prices are on the rise and the Iranian economy is teetering. FOX's Doug Luzader reports.
