MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Minnesota Aurora FC’s fourth goal Wednesday night in a 6-1 win over Chicago Dutch Lions at TCO Stadium was worthy of a highlight reel, and it’s getting national attention.
Mariah Nguyen’s first of two goals gave Minnesota Aurora a 4-0 lead in the second half, and the play made it to ESPN SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays. Nguyen dribbles nearly 50 yards, beats at least four Chicago defenders and slides a shot inside the far post for the goal.
The celebration was then on with her teammates. The play was No. 6 on ESPN’s Top 10.
Morgan Stone puts MN Aurora up 6-0
Morgan Stone scored in the first half of the Minnesota Aurora vs. RKC on May 31, putting the Aurora up 6-0.
Morgan Stone was also recognized by the USL-W with the league’s Goal of the Week. Her sixth career goal helped lead Aurora to a 10-0 win over RKC Third Coast.
Minnesota Aurora FC is 5-0 on the season and has now out-scored opponents by a combined 26-1.
