For Breck Girls Hockey, it's all about girl power

We all know how successful the female teams in Minnesota have been, from the WNBA Champion Lynx the National Champion Gophers Women’s Hockey team, but also here in Minnesota, women are taking it a step further into coaching. Basketball has its share of female coaches, and now hockey is on its heels.

At Breck, it’s all about girl power. Their hockey team is ranked No. 1 in class a and head into Thursday’s postseason game against Chisago Lakes hockey. They’re male-dominated in the coaching ranks, but at Breck, former Ms. Hockey, Patty Kazmeier finalist and Gopher Ronda Curtin Engelhardt is head coach, as are her assistant coaches, Angela Zevnik, former captain of Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire, and Bethany Brausen, also a former Gopher.
