Eyepatched Mike Zimmer returns to Vikings practice

With a white eyepatch over his right eye, Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer returned to practice at Winter Park on Tuesday. The Vikings announced Monday that Zimmer will travel with the team to Jacksonville for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Zimmer had eye surgery Wednesday night and had to miss Thursday night's game against the Cowboys -- a 17-15 loss.

There was concern that Zimmer wouldn't be cleared to fly to the game in Jacksonville this weekend due to the air pressure of a high-altitude flight and he was actually planning to drive more than 1,000 miles to make it.

Vikings General Manager, Rick Spielman released this statement Monday morning,

"Mike Zimmer has returned to his coaching duties and is expected to travel with the team to Jacksonville for this weekend's game."
