MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - The Minnesota Twins (and Twins fans) are hoping Target Field is the cure for an historically-bad start to the 2016 season. The Twins enter the home opener with an MLB-worst 0-6 record after losses in Baltimore and Kansas City.
Monday’s home opener festivities will include a ceremonial gate opening featuring members of the 1991 World Series team. On the anniversary of excellence, there’s irony that the Twins and ’91 opponent – the Atlanta Braves – are the only winless teams in baseball this season.
How bad is it?
The 0-6 start to 2016 is the worst start in Minnesota Twins history.
Twins batters have struck out an MLB-high 72 times.
The Twins have scored an MLB-low 12 runs.
