MIMNNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - A woman inside a beauty shop was injured in a shooting near the intersection of West Broadway Avenue and Irving Avenue N in north Minneapolis Thursday afternoon. Minneapolis police believe she was an innocent bystander and not the target of the gunfire.
Officers responded to the intersection around 3:20 p.m. on a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, they located a woman inside a nearby beauty shop with a non-life threatening head wound.
The woman was reportedly inside the beauty shop when a stray bullet came in through the plate glass window. Minneapolis police spokesperson John Elder says it is unclear whether the wound was caused by a bullet grazing her or by the shattering glass from the window.
No suspects are in custody.
