Wishes do come true; young girl goes to Disneyland
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A Valley kindergartner born with half a heart got the surprise of her life, with the help of a few princesses and a sparkle of pixie dust, Little Eva's wish was granted in front of her entire school.
Something magical happened for 6-year-old Eva Bourg at her Anthem Elementary School Thursday. The Make A Wish Foundation made her dream come true, a week-long trip to Disneyland.
Eva has been through a lot; she was born with a brain defect and a congenital heart defect leaving Eva with only half a heart.
"She's a tough cookie, so to see all this happen for her is great," said Jeff Riederer.
Eva's had three open heart surgeries so far; she's had to endure more than any 6-year-old should have to.
"It just makes me happy to see that everything she has gone through, the doctor visits, just everything she's gone through at least she's going to have some enjoyment for at least five days," said Julie Riderer.
The school choir sand Eva's favorite song as she showed off her dance moves.
"She's just a super happy kid, she dances, she sings, she walks around school, everybody knows her name," said Jeff Riederer.
Eva is also a huge fan of FOX 10 and watches every morning. She was excited to get an autographed picture from FOX 10's Cory McCloskey.
"We just take every day as a blessing," said Jeff.
Eva's trip to Disneyland will happen in November.
