Wisconsin still struggling with 5-time drunk drivers

A new report out of Wisconsin shows the state continues to struggle with chronic drunk drivers. An analysis of the state's Department of Transportation data finds 822 drivers were convicted of their 5th or more drunken driving charge last year, up from 819 the year before.

Half of Wisconsin’s 72 counties saw no change or more chronic drunk drivers last year than the previous 5-year average.

Penalties for drunk driving in Wisconsin are softer than in most other states.
