Valleyfair announces new ride for 2017 season, will take riders 20-stories above ground

SHAKOPEE, Minn. (KMSP) - Valleyfair announced the addition of a new ride Thursday.
North Star will be a 230-foot tall tower and will spin riders more than 20 stories above the ground in two-person chain –link swings and will reach speeds up to 40 mph. Valleyfair says the ride was named “North Star” to celebrate Minnesota’s great outdoors.
Construction will start this month and be done by early to mid-December.
North Star will rank as the second tallest ride in the park next to the 275-foot tall Power Tower. It will take the spot of Enterprise, which is set to have its last run on August 21st.
