U of M Police: Suspicious man on campus may be carrying knife or screwdriver

The University of Minnesota Police notified the public of a suspicious man on campus Sunday morning.

According to police, students reported that a suspicious man, possibly high on narcotics, was carrying a knife or screwdriver on campus.

The students said they saw the man near Keller Hall in the Knoll Area of the East Bank campus. The students left the area unharmed.

The man is described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, 6' tall, heavyset build, short hair, and wearing an orange or red jacket. He was also reportedly carrying or wearing white New Balance shoes.

Police say that while he was last seen near Keller Hall, the man could be elsewhere on or around campus.

If you see the man, please do not attempt to engage him. Immediately call 911 or 612-624-7828.
