Watch: Airborne truck flies nearly 100 feet into Oregon home, driver charged

A speeding driver was charged with reckless driving after his truck launched nearly 100 feet off a dirt mound at a construction site and crashed into an Oregon home.

The Tigard Police Department said the truck traveled roughly 100 feet after striking a dirt mound at a construction site shortly before 3 a.m. 

Investigators determined the driver had been speeding and driving recklessly leading up to the crash.

The driver, identified as 33-year-old Jacob Hankins, was found unconscious when first responders arrived. Fire crews pulled Hankins and a passenger from the wreckage, and both were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Hankins was charged with reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

"Thankfully, the family in the home was not hurt, but there is significant damage to their house," the police department said.

Homeowner David Brudnok told local media that he, his wife and their three children were upstairs when the crash occurred.
