Trader Joe's recalls chocolate sticks over allergy concern

Trader Joe's is voluntarily recalling its chocolate orange and chocolate rasberry sticks because they may contain more milk than is stated on the packaging.

Trader Joe’s is voluntarily recalling two of its candy products because they may contain ingredients that could cause an allergic reaction for some consumers.

The California-based grocery chain is recalling their chocolate orange and chocolate raspberry sticks because the candy may contain more milk than is stated on the label. According to a statement, people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume the chocolate sticks.

Two people have reported having an allergic reaction after eating the chocolate sticks.

Trader Joe’s says it has removed all the affected products from its store shelves. Anyone who has purchased either variety of the chocolate sticks may return them to Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
