Timeline of St. Louis Park to Jordan manhunt
We now know the timeline of Tuesday's day-long manhunt through the Twin Cities west metro, but we still don't know why 41-year-old David Michael Winters apparently started firing at police when they approached his vehicle in St. Louis Park, Minn.
Timeline of manhunt
It began in the parking lot of Indelco Plastics Company in St. Louis Park, where employees called 9-1-1 after spotting Winters in his vehicle asleep, with a gun nearby. Police arrived and he apparently started firing at them.
Police then thought Winters went to the Byerly's grocery store in St. Louis Park, but learned hours later he was never there.
At that same time, Winters apparently abandoned his shot-up vehicle in a random garage in Edina, Minn.
Somehow he made it to Jordan, where he eventually shot himself.

Winters' ex-wife, Erica Winters, was also in that home. She was arrested for aiding and abetting but has not been charged as of yet.
The sheriff says he is determined to figure out how Winters got a gun. He was prohibited from possessing a firearm because he was a convicted felon.
