‘The Wire’ actor Bobby J. Brown dies in barn fire: report

Bobby J. Brown, an actor known for playing Officer Bobby Brown on the HBO series "The Wire," has died after being caught in a barn fire, according to TMZ. He was 62 years old.

Brown’s daughter confirmed the news to TMZ, sharing that her father died on Wednesday of smoke inhalation.

The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed to TMZ that Brown's cause of death was ruled as diffuse thermal injury and smoke inhalation.

TMZ was told the manner of death was determined to be an accident.

The backstory:

According to the entertainment news outlet, the fire started after Brown entered the barn to jump-start a vehicle.  Brown called a family member for a fire extinguisher, but by the time the family got to the barn to put the fire out, the barn was already engulfed in flames.
