Suspect arrested in Brainerd bar stabbing

A man suspected of stabbing another man at a bar in Brainerd Friday night is in now behind bars, according to a Brainerd Police Facebook post.

Police arrested 44-year-old Troy Stalboerger of Brainerd after he allegedly stabbed a 24-year-old Brainerd man at the Iron Rail Saloon. The stabbing happened around 10:45 p.m.

Officers found the victim outside the bar "significantly bleeding" from a serious single puncture wound to the abdomen. Emergency crews took him to a Twin Cities area hospital, where he is in critical condition. Officials said he is expected to recover.

Witnesses told police they saw the suspect run east from the bar. Officers found Stalboerger in a wooded area on the south side of the 1000 block of Laurel Street. He is now in Crow Wing County Jail awaiting arraignment.
