Shooting in rural Rice County leaves 3 people hurt, no one in custody

Police are investigating an early morning shooting in rural Rice County.

A report of a shooting came in around 2:58 a.m. Saturday on the 4800 block of Elmore Avenue in Webster Township. 

Webster Township is located about 35 miles south of the Twin Cities.

Sheriff Troy Dunn says once officers arrived they found one female victim to the upper torso. She was airlifted to a trauma center and is in critical condition.

A Rice County deputy stopped a vehicle just northeast of the home and found two male victims inside with gunshot wounds to their lower extremities. Police believe these two victims that left the scene were trying to find a hospital. One was airlifted and another was taken by ambulance.

All three victims were taken to HCMC.

Officials say none of the victims are from the area.

Officials believe a party was going on at the time of the incident. A fight broke out and then multiple gunshots followed.

Police say they’ve found at least two vehicles with damage from gunfire.

One victim is in critical condition, one in serious condition, and the other is in stable condition.

Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn says it’s been at least a decade since he has seen a multiple victim shooting in Webster.

Police have no suspects in custody and are interviewing witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact RIce County Sheriff's Office at (507)334-4391.
