Police investigating after a man was found dead inside a burning vehicle

OWATONNA, Minn. (KMSP) - The Steele County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was found inside a burning vehicle on Sunday.
Authorities responded to a suspicious call on the 2000 block of NW 52nd Avenue around 6:33 p.m. on Sunday. Crews found a vehicle fire in a rural farm field just west of Owatonna. The fire was extinguished and the body of a man was found in the vehicle.
The victim’s identity and the cause of death are currently under investigation. Police say the vehicle was a total loss.
Steele County Sheriff, Steele County Coroner, Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner and the State Fire Marshal are investigating.
