The Brief

    • Photos captured across Minnesota showed the northern lights display on Wednesday night.
    • The northern lights will continue on Thursday night, but cloudy skies will likely prevent them from being seen.
    • Also known as Aurora Borealis, the lights are caused by electrically charged particles from the sun colliding with gases in the Earth's upper atmosphere.

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The northern lights created some beautiful displays across Minnesota on Wednesday night.
