Overnight house fires in West St. Paul, Eden Prairie

One person suffered minor burns and a firefighter was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after an overnight house fire in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The fire started at about 12:30 a.m. Monday on the 7500 block of Ontario Boulevard.

When crews arrived, flames were shooting from the front and side of the home. Everyone inside was able to make it out, but one person suffered minor burns. Crews were able to put out the flames quickly, but the home does have significant damage from flames, smoke and water. It's still unclear what sparked the fire.

Another overnight fire damaged a home on Stryker Avenue in West St. Paul. The front porch started on fire around 1 a.m. Monday.

Crews were able to get the flames under control in about 30 minutes. Firefighters on the scene said 4 or 5 people made it out safely and are staying with family. The cause remains under investigation.
