No ID for body pulled from Mississippi near Ford Parkway Bridge

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - A male body was recovered from the Mississippi River near the Ford Parkway Bridge early Wednesday morning, but sheriff's officials would not confirm the identity.

Both Ramsey and Hennepin County water patrols responded to the Mississippi River after a boater sculling in the river reported seeing a body floating at about 6:13 a.m. at Ford Parkway and Marshall Avenue near the Minneapolis-St. Paul border.

After the body was recovered, the Hennepin County sheriff's office and University of Minnesota Police addressed the media at 9:15 but reaffirmed the Hennepin County medical examiner will determine the identity and would not confirm if it was the body of missing U of M student David Miller. 

The 20-year-old biological sciences student from St. Peter, Minn. was last seen leaving Wilkins Hall around 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10. He has not been seen or heard from since. U of M Police Chief Matt Clark said there's still no reason to suspect foul play in his disappearance.

Clark thanked the sheriff's office for their continued support in the search and said they'll continue standard ongoing communication with Miller's family.

Two U of M police squads and one unmarked police vehicle were at the scene and left just before 9 a.m. The Hennepin County medical examiner was also on-scene, but no formal identification will be made until their investigation is complete.
