Near record plunge behind arctic front

Misery loves company right? Well, we aren’t the only ones dealing with this arctic airmass… nearly 90% of the country will.  But I don’t think anyone will deal with bigger sticker shock than Texas.  As our Arctic airmass pushed south across the Plains, temperatures ahead of it Saturday were in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.  Many locations went from record or near record highs in the afternoon Saturday, to near record or record lows Sunday morning, dropping some 65 degrees in just a few hours.  The “feels like” temps went from 80s in Midland to the single digits below zero… that’s a nearly 90 degree swing in less than 18 hours.  Crazy!!
