Minnesota Wild hire Bruce Boudreau as new head coach
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KMSP) - Bruce Boudreau has been named the head coach of the Minnesota Wild.
Boudreau agreed to a 4-year deal expected to be worth $3 million per season. Boudreau has been seen as the top NHL coach up for grabs – before reaching a deal with the Wild. He’s the fastest coach in NHL history to reach 400 wins. Boudreau also won coach of the year in 2008 as the Washington Capitals coach.
The Wild also interviewed Randy Carlyle and John Torchetti. Torchetti served as the interim coach after Mike Yeo was fired in February.
Boudreau is expected to make his first appearance in St. Paul on Tuesday.
