Minnesota man found dead after being reported missing last week

(KMSP) - A Minnesota man who was reported missing earlier this month was found dead in a rural location near Ellsworth, Minn. Sunday, though police believe that his body was transported to the spot after dying somewhere else.

Investigators with the Meeker County Sheriff's Office did not disclose the cause or manner of 40-year-old Shawn Medley's death, simply saying they believe he had been dead for some time when he was found by authorities.

He was reported missing last Wednesday from his home in Wright County, along with a 2010 Silver Hyundai Elantra with MN plates 748HUD. Police found the vehicle abandoned in Litchfield, Minn. on Saturday, according to a release.

The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information on Medley's whereabouts or other information relating to the case is urged to call the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office at 320-693-5400.
