MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - A man has been sentenced to prison for his role in a Minneapolis shooting that left one person dead and three others injured.
Antonio Deshawn Timberlake sentencing
What they're saying:
The Hennepin County Attorney's Office announced Friday that 27-year-old Antonio Deshawn Timberlake was sentenced to 534 months, or 44.5 years, in prison for his role in the shooting death of Pierre Romel Miller.
Timberlake had pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree intentional murder and three counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon in December 2024. His sentence was part of his plea agreement.
"My thoughts are with Mr. Miller’s loved ones and with the other three victims and their families," Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said. "Mr. Timberlake is being held accountable for his extremely destructive conduct. While this lengthy sentence is necessary to protect the public, it will not bring Mr. Miller back or heal the trauma with which the other victims live."
February 2024 shooting
The backstory:
Minneapolis police responded to a shooting near the intersection of Chicago and Franklin Avenues just before 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 27, 2024.
Responding officers say they then found a man lying dead on the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers learned later three other people had been shot but were expected to survive.
Surveillance camera footage from the scene shows three shooters arriving in a gray Kia. The complaint states that footage shows the driver of the Kia "casing" the block before backing into the northern end of an alley near where the shooting was about to happen.
Footage then shows the three shooters wearing all-black or dark clothing, hoods and masks walking out of the Kia and heading south before opening fire.
Three other people are also charged in the shooting:
Albert Jerome Lucas, 20, from St. Paul, is charged with multiple counts of second-degree murder.
Victor Mortar Collins, 22, is charged with second-degree murder after law enforcement found he was in possession of one of the handguns used in the murder.
Elizabeth Arteaga Dominguez, 28, is charged with aiding an offender after police recovered texts between her and Timberlake.
