Massive gator spotted at Palmetto golf course (again)

He's back! The gargantuan gator known as "Chubbs" was spotted around the eighth hole at the Buffalo Creek Golf Course this week.

It appears he was enjoying a Valentine's Day walk with a few of his bird pals.

Pope Golf posted a video of the alligator strutting across the green. "Playing through on #8 today at Buffalo Creek Golf Course with a "gallery" following close behind!" Pope Golf posted.

The alligator has been spotted several times at the golf course over the years while golfers look on in awe. It's the golf course's largest, toothiest, resident, and course management said he's not a nuisance. He just minds his own business and has a large reservoir to hang out in.

Video of the gator went viral in 2016 as golfer Charles Helm took video of him. "That is the biggest freaking alligator I've ever seen in my life," he said on video, calling it a "monster."

The alligator is believed to be 14 or 15 feet long, but no one has gotten close enough to measure it, a golf course manager said at the time.

The gator was nicknamed "Chubbs" as part of a Facebook contest after the video went viral.
