Kindergarten student gave out alcoholic ‘small jello cups,’ school officials say

School officials and law enforcement in Pennsylvania are investigating why a kindergartner brought "small jello cups" to school and gave them out to other students.

What we know:

On Wednesday, Johnstown Elementary School posted a news release alerting parents that a kindergarten student gave out "alcohol in the form of small jello cups" to three other students.

Once staff were notified of what was going on, the students who ingested the gelatin shots were checked out by the school nurse before being transported to the hospital out of an abundance of caution.

What they're saying:

"We are currently in possession of the jello cups and the matter is under investigation," the news release said.

What we don't know:

It is not yet known how the child got their hands on the gelatin shots, but officials are investigating the matter.
