Fiery crash on Highway 55 at Bryant Ave. in Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Minneapolis police and firefighters rescued a driver who was trapped in a burning car after an overnight crash on Highway 55 at Bryant Avenue, but police said the driver is in "very critical" condition. The single-car crash was reported at 12:24 a.m. Friday.
The first officers to arrive on the scene attempted to extricate the driver, but the fire department's Herse tool was needed to finish the job. The driver was transported by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center.
The MPD Traffic Unit is investigating the crash. It is unknown what the contributing factors in this crash are at this time.
