A woman was rescued from her vehicle after it went off the road and into a holding pond off Interstate 494 and Highway 169 in Bloomington, Minnesota during the Tuesday morning commute.

The State Patrol says a man risked his life and walked out on the very thin ice to help pull the woman from her rapidly sinking car.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the 24-year-old woman's windows in the vehicle fogged up and she slid off the ramp and into the holding pond. She used a fire extinguisher that was in her vehicle to smash a window, and she was not hurt, but had some minor injuries from crawling through the broken glass.

The incident happened along the Highway 169 southbound ramp to Interstate 494 eastbound.
