Driver charged for killing man with Chevy Suburban at party in Austin, Minn.
AUSTIN, Minn. (KMSP) - A 26-year-old man was charged with criminal vehicular homicide for allegedly killing a man with his vehicle on Saturday at a social gathering in Austin, Minn.
According to the Freeborn County Sheriff's Office, police were called to a residence around 9 p.m. for an unresponsive male who had been struck by a 2000 Chevy Suburban while in a pasture with others behind the home.
Witnesses performed CPR on the victim before the first deputies arrived on scene. Police said life-saving efforts were continued for some time before being called off by medical personnel. Alex Tapp, 30, of Austin, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nathan Brooks, also of Austin, was arrested and charged with criminal vehicular homicide. The incident remains under investigation.
