Drive-by shooting injures bystander outside Roseville, Minn. apartments

ROSEVILLE, Minn. (KMSP) - Police in Roseville, Minnesota are looking for an SUV and its occupants involved in a drive-by shooting that injured an innocent bystander Monday night. Police responded to a report of multiple gunshots at the Hillsborough Apartment complex on the 200 block of Grandview Avenue at 7:39 p.m.
According to witnesses, a dark-colored SUV was heading east on Grandview Avenue toward Rice Street when the front seat passenger began shooting a handgun from an open window, targeting a vehicle exiting the Hillsborough Apartments parking lot. Witnesses said approximately 6 to 7 gunshots were fired.
Police believe one of the rounds may have ricocheted off the pavement with a bullet fragment striking a 50-year-old innocent bystander who happened to be walking to his car parked in the complex parking lot. He was taken by ambulance to a hospital and later released.
The vehicle the gunman appeared to have targeted struck a parked car as it sped out of the parking lot.
