CHARGES: Brooklyn Park man pawned $14,000 worth of tools

A Brooklyn Park man is facing felony burglary charges after he pawned $14,000 worth of tools.

According to a criminal complaint, Henry Newsom went into a duplex that was being renovated by Don Christie’s sanding company in south Minneapolis on July 30.

Don Christie was hired to renovate the duplex and stored his tools on the upper level. His tools included a $7,000 sander.

The complaint says, Newsom pawned eight different tools a pawn shop in Osseo, Minn. The tools were later identified as Don Christie’s.

Investigator Sandberg, with the 3rd Precinct recovered the sander and Christie’s entire tool set.

If Newsom is convicted he faces 5 years in prison and/or a fine of $10,000.
