BEAR WEEK: How Minnesota Zoo keeps its black bears engaged, active
APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (KMSP) - When bears are in the wild, they spend lots of time for foraging for food.
Since the black bears at the Minnesota Zoo are fed by the zookeepers, they don't have to do that. But, they do need "enrichment" activities designed to challenge a bear's intelligent mind and active body.
As Fox 9 morning reporter M.A. Rosko finds out, "enrichment" means you might end up sticky from honey and peanut butter.
