I-94 closure

Interstate 94 is closing in St. Paul this weekend, and it's best to avoid as the closure will likely snarl traffic.

Both directions of I-94 between Highway 280 and Snelling Avenue will close at 8 p.m. Friday, April 29 and are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, May 2.

Traffic will be reduced to a single lane between Snelling Avenue and Dale Street. Motorists will not be able to enter westbound I-94 between I-35E and Cretin Avenue. A single lane will be open in the westbound direction between Cretin Avenue and Highway 280.

During this closure, crews will demolish the Prior Avenue bridge deck, which is being rebuilt this summer.

I-35W closure

Interstate 35W will shut down at County Road E2 in New Brighton at 8 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday.

Both directions of interstate traffic will be routed in a single lane up and down the ramps at County Road E2.
Traffic will not be allowed to turn onto CR E2 and that traffic will not be allowed to enter I-35W.
