911 caller confesses to deadly shooting at Myre-Big Island State Park in southern Minnesota

A man called 911 at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday night to report he shot another man at Myre-Big island State Park in Albert Lea, Minn. Freeborn County sheriff’s deputies and Albert Lea police responded to the park, found the caller, and took him into custody.

The victim was found at a different location with two gunshot wounds to his head.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was brought to the state park to assist with the investigation. More information will be released by the Freeborn County sheriff’s office as it is confirmed.
