61-year-old bicyclist killed in Sauk Rapids, Minn.
SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. (KMSP) - A 61-year-old bicyclist was killed when he was struck by a vehicle under the MN Highway 15 bridge Wednesday evening in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota.
According to the Sauk Rapids Police Department, the man was riding his bike south on North Benton Drive under Highway 15 and had fallen in the roadway. Vehicles attempted to avoid him, but one vehicle, driven by a 64-year-old St. Cloud resident, struck the bicyclist.
The identities of the victim and the driver have not been released.
The Benton County Medical Examiner is working to determine whether the bicyclist had any underlying medical issues. The Minnesota State Patrol and the Sauk Rapids Police Department are investigating the crash.
