3 arrested in Ham Lake, Minn. shooting, victim in stable condition

Two adults and one juvenile have been arrested in connection with a shooting between two vehicles in Ham Lake, Minnesota Wednesday night.

A 21-year-old Elk River, Minn. man is in stable condition after being shot in the chest, according to the Anoka County sheriff's office.

The initial 911 call came in at 7:20 p.m. as a possible road rage incident between two vehicles in the area of northbound Highway 65 and Constance Boulevard. However, after reviewing MnDOT cameras, officials say there is no evidence that supports the suspects road rage story and it was made up.

Officials said the victim was a passenger in the vehicle when he was shot, but how he was shot remains under investigation.

Emergency crews took the victim to Mercy Hospital where he immediately went into surgery. He is now listed in stable condition.

A 31-year-old Ham Lake man, a 20-year-old Zimmerman man and a 16-year-old Minneapolis girl were taken into custody Thursday. All three have been arrested for aiding and abetting second degree assault, but they have not been formally charged.
