1 dead, 1 injured in Minneapolis house fire

One person is dead and one firefighter is injured after a fire at Minneapolis home early Sunday.

Flames started around 4:30 a.m. on the 2900 block of 40th Avenue S. Firefighters say the fire started on the second floor and burned through the two-story home, causing the roof to partially collapse.

The victim was found dead on the second floor. They have not yet been identified.

A firefighter was injured, but the extent of their injuries remains unknown.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. This was the city's first deadly fire of the year.
