History on Wheels: Antique Car Run returns for 40th year

This weekend, dozens of antique cars will begin their trek from New London to New Brighton with several stops along the way. It's the 40th Antique Car Run. The vehicles are from 1908 or earlier, or a one- or two-cylinder vehicle from 1915 or earlier. The drive is 120 miles and they average 20mph. The antique vehicles will begin arriving at New Brighton Stockyard Days at 3 p.m. on Saturday August 8th.

Old Time Harvest Festival begins in Jordan

A festival in Jordan takes visitors back to the late 19th century when steam-powered threshers played an important role in Minnesota's early farming history. The Old Time Harvest Festival is put on by the Scott-Carver Threshers. It takes place on 92 acres across the street from the Scott County Fairgrounds. The festival is three days long. Tickets for adults are $10 for the whole weekend. Kids 12 and under are free.

Jordan Brewery caves open to the public

For years, the brewery caves tucked into the bluffs of Jordan were only open to explore for those 21 and up because of the dispensary on the main floor of the building. It was important to the owners that everyone could see the caves, so they worked with the city to re-configure their business creating a public lobby space. Now the caves are open seven days a week and free to explore for all ages. The caves are located at 415 Broadway St. South in Jordan. The caves are open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Valleyfair opened in 1976 with 20 rides on 26 acres, featuring the High Roller as its main attraction. Today, the park spans 125 acres and offers more than 75 rides and attractions, including classics like the Tilt-A-Whirl, Ferris wheel and a 101-year-old carousel originally from Excelsior Amusement Park. Summer campers experience life in the 1800s

Kids at an Edina summer camp are experiencing life in the 1800s. It's called the Pioneers and Trailblazers camp and it's put on by the Edina Historical Society. It takes place in two of Edina's most historic buildings, the Cahill School and the Grange. Both structures were built in the 1800s. The campers are learning to sew, churn butter, make dye from berries while also exploring local history. This camp is for kids age six to ten and there are more camps scheduled for August.
