New Snapology location opens in Plymouth
Here?s a pairing parents can get behind. Urban Air Plymouth, an indoor adventure park, is expanding its offerings by teaming up with Snapology. Kids can take a spin on a zipline one minute, and code a robot the next. Snapology uses LEGO bricks, K?Nex and technology to teach children about science, technology, engineering, art and math. Right now, the Snapology classroom in the entertainment center is being used to host camps with themes like Star Wars, Roblox and Minecraft.

Fresh off his appearance on the Netflix reboot of ?Iron Chef,? Yia Vang is giving patrons a chance to try out his new restaurant without actually opening the space. He?s partnered with Steady Pour in NE Minneapolis, an event space and cocktail bar, to create the Vinai experience, in a temporary venue. The dinner series is a five-course meal with cocktail pairings. It?s a ticketed experience. The next series takes place on August 4th, 5th, 6th, 11th, 12th and 13th.

Electric cars are becoming commonplace and boats are not far behind. In fact, renting one is now an option on Lake Minnetonka. Electric Shores has brought Duffy Boats to Downtown Excelsior. The boats don?t require gas, are easy to drive, quiet and barely produce a wake. They top out around seven miles per hour and are meant for cruising. A nostalgic shopping experience is popping up at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Saturday, July 23rd. Totally Rad Vintage Fest celebrates the 80?s and 90?s and they?ve lined up 70 vendors who will be selling everything from clothing to toys and furniture. The event runs from 10am to 5pm. There are also photo-op locations and a DJ spinning the biggest hits of those decades. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

Music groups Duran Duran, Black Eyed Peas and Muse were just some of the big acts at this years? Rock in Rio festival in Portugal. Also taking the stage for that iconic festival; students from Eden Prairie?s School of Rock. They were chosen after a global search for the best up-and-coming musicians. Only 16 U.S. bands were chosen to play one of the largest music festivals in the world. It was the first time the Eden Prairie School of Rock House Band performed on a global stage.

The new food announcement from the Minnesota State Fair is a dream come true for a local couple. Four years ago, Bryant and Rachel Amundson launched ?Nautical Bowls? in Minnetonka. Now they have 91 locations across the United States, but they still considered landing a spot at the State Fair to be the ultimate goal. For the 2022 fair they?ll be in the Food Building. Their bowls begin with a super food base like Ac?ai?, Pitaya, Blue Majik, Mango, and Cacao. They add in toppings like freshly ground peanut or almond butter, granola, pumpkin seeds, coconut and honey. The ingredients are organic, gluten free, dairy free and plant-based.

Cotton, cashmere and polyester are fabrics that come to mind with modern clothing, but before these materials were easily available, people had to innovate. Their resourcefulness is on display in a new exhibit at the Minneapolis Institute of Art called ?Dressed by Nature: Textiles of Japan.? The show focuses on clothing made between the years 1750 and 1930 using textiles like fish skin, nettle and banana plants. The show is in the Target Gallery and runs through September 11, 2022.

Kids of the 90’s this new ice cream shop is for you, and anyone else who enjoys a tasty scoop of ice cream. Dream Creamery is now open in Northeast Minneapolis. From the Travail team and led by Chef Nate Mickelson, the shop is getting just as much buzz for the ice cream as it is for the food on the menu, which includes burgers, lobster rolls, fries and cheese curds. The shop is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., and is located at 816 Lowry Ave NE.

The Crayola Experience at Mall of America in Bloomington is hosting the Kubota Machine Adventures for an immersive machine-themed takeover combined with art on June 30. The one-day parking lot event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, which is a kickoff to the Kubota Machine Adventures inside the Mall of America. The indoor event runs now through July 21

The building underwent a major renovation to become the Dabbler Depot. It boasts a living wall that?s watered with the condensation from the beer coolers that stretch the length of the building. There?s a tap wall for sampling and a video production studio in back. The idea is to create videos about the products that can be accessed through QR Codes, but they?ll also host podcasts. On the other side of the glass wall is a coffee shop with locally made donuts and pies. The depot is open Tuesday through Sunday.
