Teddy Bridgewater 'confident' in knee after first practice back
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KMSP) - Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater says he feels "confident" in his knee after returning to practice since he tore his ACL last August.
Being back on the field is just another "mini-milestone" in his path to recovery.
"It's just great being out there with the guys," said Bridgewater. "I've been working in the dog house, you know, in the backyard by myself. To be able to get out there and be with the guys, it was pretty fun. I'm feeling pretty good."
His teammates he says were key in his healing process cornerback Terence Newman, who always told him to smile.
Bridgewater says he "definitely believe[s]" he will play this season, but so far there's nothing set for his return to game day.
"Not looking that far down the road," he said. "Still taking it one day at at time."
For now, his focus will be to continue to strengthen his knee and maximize his opportunities in practice.
"Moving forward I just want to be the best player I can be," he said.
