Four Gophers football players have been suspended for violating team rules.

Two Gophers football players were suspended ahead of Saturday’s game against Indiana State.

Reports ahead of Saturday's game said the Gophers football program suspended cornerbacks KiAnte Hardin and Ray Buford for violating unspecified team rules.

In a postgame press conference, coach Tracy Claeys said safety Dior Johnson (redshirt freshman) and defensive lineman Tamarion Johnson (freshman) were also suspended.

It's unclear how long each player will be suspended for.

Hardin (sophomore) played in most of last week’s opener against Oregon State. Buford is listed as a red shirt freshman on the Gophers football roster.

Sophomore Antonio Shenault started against Indiana State. The Gophers beat Indiana State 58-28.
