Woman, dog killed by train in Wadena
WADENA, Minn. (KMSP) - A young woman and dog were killed after being hit by a train in Wadena on Saturday evening.
Sheriff’s officials said the woman and dog were seen in town along the tracks, and were struck by an eastbound Burlington Norther/Santi Fe train east of Highway 71 at 6:10 p.m. and killed. The train stopped on the tracks and all crossings in town were closed for about 3 hours.
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office and Wadena Police Department are conducting the investigation along with investigators with BNSF Railroad.
The woman will be identified once family is notified.
